Moved by the devastating flood that swept through Kerry County in Texas, Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández announced that he will not only dedicate his upcoming shows in the Lone Star State to the victims of the tragic event but will also donate part of the shows’ proceeds to those affected.

“As an artist, I’ve always sought to bring love and hope through my music; as a father, I’m absolutely heartbroken by the news of this tragedy at Camp Mystic,” said Fernández, who is the son of the late legendary singer Vicente Fernández. “I want to dedicate my concerts in Fort Worth and El Paso to all the families going through this horrific pain and make a donation to support them during these difficult times.”

A portion of the proceeds from his September concerts at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena and UTEP Don Haskins Center in El Paso will go toward Catholic Charities Archdiocese of San Antonio, Inc., which is assisting communities affected by the flood that swept through Texas Hill Country on July 4.

The death toll has climbed to 119, including 27 campers and staff members from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp, and more than 170 are missing.

Fernández is one of the most successful Mexican singers with four Latin Grammy awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He’s donated to several causes in the past, including 1 million Mexican pesos to the Red Cross in 2020 to help those affected by hurricanes in Southern Mexico. He also made a donation to the Los Angeles Fire Department and Wildfire Relief Fund earlier this year after wildfires swept through various parts of Southern California.

The iconic singer is currently on his “De Rey A Rey” tour, which is promoted by Live Nation and honors the legacy of his father, Vicente. He played a sold-out show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn last month and grossed $907,285 off 8,808 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.

Fernández is booked and managed by OCESA Seitrack.
