The Roots Announce Two Bay Area Shows Ahead Of Performance At Blue Note Jazz Fest

With the Blue Note Jazz Festival on the horizon and scheduled to take place in Napa, California, on Aug. 29 and 31, The Roots announced two shows ahead of their appearance at the festival. The band will first take the stage in Santa Cruz, California, on Aug. 28, then in Oakland, California, on Aug. 29.

The Santa Cruz show takes place at the open-air Quarry Amphitheater at UC Santa Cruz as part of Blue Note Jazz Festival Presents: The Black Radio Experience Preview, while the show in Oakland celebrates the 30th anniversary of The Roots’ debut album, Do You Want More?!!!??! at the Henry J. Kaiser Center. The Santa Cru show finds The Roots joined by The Soul Rebels and Goapele.

Tickets for the Santa Cruz show are on sale now, while the Oakland date goes on sale July 10 at 10 a.m. PT.

Blue Note Jazz Festival takes place in Napa from Aug. 29 to 31, with tickets on sale now. This year’s lineup includes Robert Glasper (artist in residence) with special guests Questlove, Yebba and Slum Village. Further performances include Jazmine Sullivan, The Roots, Earth, Wind & Fire, D-Nice featuring Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane featuring Talib Kweli. Blue Note Jazz Festival Presents: The Black Radio Experience returns to the Meritage Resort and Spa, with options to stay on the festival grounds via hotel packages.
