Japanese Rock Band BABYMETAL Signs With CAA (Exclusive)

Creative Artists Agency bolstered its rock roster with the signing of BABYMETAL for representation in all areas, the agency told Pollstar today.
The Japanese metal band, which formed in 2010, has been busy this past year with numerous rock festivals, including Knotfest, and headlined shows across the globe. BABYMETAL performed a sold-out show at New York City’s Theater at Madison Square Garden on June 24 and grossed $334,694 off 4,619 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice. They also headlined a sold-out show at The O2 in London and played in front of 15,000 people.
The trio is known for its larger-than-life production with choreography, costumes and a stellar backing band. BABYMETAL recently announced an underplay at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles taking place July 24, which will be the band’s final show in the U.S. before embarking on the European leg of its tour. The band will make its way back to the States in November to play at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
BABYMETAL also recently joined Capitol Records and became the first Japanese act to sign a frontline deal with the label. The band made a big splash in 2016 with METAL RESISTANCE, which made them the highest charting Japanese act ever in the United Kingdom and U.S. in more than five decades. They will be releasing their fifth studio album, METAL FORTH, via Capitol on Aug. 8, and it features collaborations with Tom Morello, Poppy, Spiritbox and more
5B Artist Management’s Brad Fuhrman and Cory Brennan manage BABYMETAL along with Key Kobayashi at Amuse.
