It’s just such heartbreaking news that I can’t really find the words, there won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother.

OZZY RIP
It’s impossible to put into words what Ozzy Osbourne has meant to Metallica. Hero, icon, pioneer, inspiration, mentor, and most of all, friend are a few that come to mind. Ozzy and Sharon believed in us and transformed our lives and careers. He taught us how to play in the big leagues while at the same time being warm, welcoming, engaging, and all around brilliant.
We are heartbroken and devastated by this loss and send our love and condolences to Sharon and their family, bandmates, and his very large circle of friends. He left an incredible legacy and will be sorely missed.

Farewell to the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, whose wild spirit and soulful voice shaped the lives of countless fans and musicians alike. His fearless innovation in heavy metal inspired a generation to break boundaries and chase their dreams. Through every riff and lyric, he brought us together, turning sorrow into strength. His legacy will echo in the hearts of those who rocked to his beat. Musicians found their muse in his raw talent, crafting their own paths with his influence as their guide. The world feels dimmer without his electrifying presence. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the global music community. Rest in peace, Ozzy—your music will live forever. From Joe’s manager, we share in this collective grief.

We lost our dear, dear friend today. Ozzy was a pioneer, a guiding force for all in hard rock and heavy metal, and a great guy too. Lemmy and Ozzy were brothers in arms who enjoyed many adventures together over the decades, and his loss is seismic. Rest peacefully Ozzy, we will always love and celebrate you…

Foo Fighters
Rest in peace, Ozzy. And thank you for a lifetime of inspiration. Rock and Roll would not be as loud or as fun without you. You will be forever missed.
Our deepest condolences to the entire Osbourne and Sabbath family.

Alice Cooper
Tonight, we found out that the world lost Ozzy just minutes before going on stage in Cardiff, Wales, which is about 2 hours from the place where Ozzy was born. Before going on stage, Alice recorded the following quote for his radio show Alice’s Attic:
“Well, we all know that time is going to take us rockers, but when the giants fall, it’s really hard to accept. Even though everybody saw it coming with Ozzy, it just took our breath away when it happened. So Ozzy and family – your records and your music and your legend and all that you brought – the humor to the rock business – will live on forever and we’re gonna miss you man.”
Alice and his band then dedicated tonight’s show to Ozzy’s memory and they were able to celebrate along with the crowd who had also just learned of this great loss for rock n roll.
Following the show, Alice summed up his thoughts by saying “The whole world is mourning Ozzy tonight. Over his long career, he earned immense respect among his peers and from fans around the world as an unmatched showman and cultural icon.
I always saw Ozzy as a cross between the prince of darkness, which is the persona his fans saw, and the court jester. That was the side that his family and friends saw.
He was and will continue to be a rock n roll legend. Rock n Roll is a family and a fraternity. When we lose one of our own it bleeds. I wish I would have gotten to know my brother Ozzy better.
Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and the rest of the Ozzy brood – our prayers are with you tonight. A titanic boulder has crashed, but rock will roll on.“
Rest easy Ozzy and we’ll see you on the other side! – Alice, Sheryl, Chuck, Ryan, Tommy, Nita, Glen and our entire CerealKyler Photography – @cerealkyler

So sad to hear of Ozzie’s passing. His last appearance at Villa Park was a glorious way to say goodbye – the love in that place for him was gigantic. I’m grateful I was able to have a few quiet words with him after the show.
And happy to know he passed peacefully with his loving family close by. But the world will miss Ozzie’s unique presence and fearless talent. My heartfelt consolations to Sharon and their great family. And to Bill and Geezer and my dear friend Tony – for this is family – I know only too well.
REST IN PEACE dear Ozzie.

Farewell Ozzy … what a journey … sail on up there .. finally at peace .. you truly changed the planet of rock!
Lamb of God
The loss we feel today is immeasurable. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath created heavy metal…and with it, they created a world in which generations of people could feel accepted and welcome…safe and free to be their authentic selves knowing that they won’t ever be alone. Ozzy changed the world…and for millions of people all over the world, it’s nearly impossible to imagine where we might be if he hadn’t.
So even as we mourn his passing, we celebrate his life. What a life it was! And how generously Ozzy and his family shared it with us!
On a more personal note, the entire Osbourne family was instrumental in helping support and guide the early stages of Lamb of God’s career…they always believed in us. We are forever grateful….for the support and love they’ve shown us…and most of all for the music they’ve given to all of us.
We love you Ozzy. ![]()

People have asked me over the years, “What’s it like working with Ozzy Osbourne?” From the moment I became his publicist in March 1987, it was an honor, thrill—and a gas, gas, gas.
I knew Ozzy—a target of evangelists—detested religious hypocrisy. So I put a little bug into the ears of Ozzy and Sharon in ‘87 when evangelist/huckster Oral Roberts announced via a letter to his subscribers that he needed $8 million from them for “a medical scholarship program” or “God calls me home.”
After Roberts (actually) collected the money, Ozzy sent him, eh, $1.00 and a note via telegram. Let UPI pick up the story (April 1987):
“Shock rocker Ozzy Osbourne made a donation — a mere $1 – to go with the $8 million that Roberts’ supporters sent so God would not take the evangelist’s life. But Osbourne, who is a frequent target of evangelists, specified how he wanted his money used. ‘I’m glad that you didn’t have to die in the name of raising money for your cause,’ he wrote Roberts, ‘but now that you’ve emerged from your prayer tower, I’m sure you’ll be able to make use of my enclosed donation: a $1 bill. It is for your psychiatric treatment fund.’”
Gotta love Ozzy—forever and always. RIP![]()

Working at Epic Records for the whole of the 90s was the most incredible experience in so many ways, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne played a huge part in shaping that era on a daily basis for all of us lucky enough to work with and know them. My most significant memory of working with them was shepherding Ozzy through all of NYC on a “Midnight Madness” record store night in a minivan with Mike Djunclemike Schnapp, which took us not only to every record store in NYC, where Ozzy would not leave until every. last. fan. got to shake his hand or leave with signed vinyl, but also, in between, stopping at all of their favorite Hot Dog stands in the city. We started that adventure at 9pm, and I walked into my house at 7am the next morning with my laugh muscles in pain from the entire experience.
RIP Ozzy. ![]()
You left your mark in so many ways.
May your memory be for a blessing always!

It’s been my honor to work alongside @mitchellschneider6513 on behalf of the legendary @ozzyosbourne for so many years. All day I’ve been trying to find the words that capture a single moment: a concert, event, party, or just an afternoon sitting at the kitchen table…one thing I know, he was kinder and funnier than you can imagine. They say a man will be remembered by those he touched, his memory will live on through his beloved family and in everyone who had the good fortune to cross his path. RIP our dear Ozzy, I’ll try to find a Diet Pepsi in a bottle to drink in your honor. ![]()

Tonight we find ourselves in Wolverhampton just outside of Birmingham, England, Ozzy’s home town. It all seems so surreal. Close My Eyes Forever takes on a whole different meaning now.. Thanks for the great music through the years. Great rock stars never die.
Rest In Peace Ozzy.

One of my most memorable days of working for Ozzy with Mitchell Schneider and Marcee Rondan at Levine/Schneider (at the time) was a press day the day the “No More Tears” video came out. I spent an entire afternoon running around the office. From the lobby to rewind and play the video for journalists before their interview, all while moving glass bottles of Diet Pepsi from one refrigerator to another in the Intern Room (because one was colder than the other). Ozzy drank them like water at that time. So my routine was rewinding the videotape, greeting journalists, hitting Play, moving bottles between the fridges, bringing journos into the conference room, bringing Ozzy a new bottle and discarding the one he just finished. Repeat…so many times.
This is what a Legend deserved. I loved every minute. It was a honor for me, in my small role that day.
Thanks for the music, rest well Ozzy.
Paul Stanley
We have lost a legend. From Sabbath to Blizzard and onward Ozzy has impacted countless bands and that will not end. KISS was humbled to be an opening band for Sabbath in the mid 70’s. Through decades I’ve known him, Ozzy has always been a kind and very funny soul. Fly high now.

Ozzy I will always love and miss you Thank you for this beautiful thoughtful gift and all the life changing music

Sheneza Mohammed
One of the great touring experiences of my life was touring as Media Director of Ozzfest 2006. Oz man was the best. A Father figure to all involved. You could tell he appreciated having a brown girl on the road with all these metal dudes. He was protective. He loved my tattoos and asked to check them out on multiple occasions. Ha! RIP sweet man. Much love to your family and everyone who will be deeply affected by your loss. Yours was life well lived.— with Shaz Mohammed.

Ozzy Osbourne was and will always be a one of a kind true rock legend. For him to have been that close to death on July 5 and still get up there and perform like he promised… Wow! That puts him in a category of his own. Talk about commitment and loyalty to your fans. Nobody’s going to out-do that ever!
RIP my brother, you did it all.

I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough. You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all.
I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.

Elton John
So sad to hear the news of Ozzy Osbourne passing away.
He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.
Elton xx
