Sudan Archives, a singer and musician known for her genre-bending combination of R&B, electronic, alternative and violin, has announced a 14-date tour that coincides with the announcement of her third album, The BPM, which will be released on Oct. 17 and introduces “Gadget Girl,” her new persona.

Her tour kicks off in the US at FWB Fest in Idyllwild, CA on Aug. 2, then makes stops at Duke University on Sept. 7, Brooklyn for Under The K Bridge with TV On the Radio, Austin for the Levitation Festival and then finishes out the US leg at LA’s Lodge Room on Nov. 7. The U.S. dates are followed by a European jaunt playing larger venues including Berlin’s Betonhalle (3,500 capacity) on Nov. 27, Paradiso in Amsterdam (1,500 capacity), Brussels’ Botanique – Orangerie (650 capacity), Le Trianon in Paris (1,091 capacity), and finish with four shows in December across the UK including The Roundhouse (1,503 capacity) and her final show in Dublin on Dec. 8 at The Academy (650 capacity).

Sudan’s previous tours have mainly consisted of support acts and festival runs with a select few headlining shows. According to Pollstar Boxoffice Reports, her average gross is
$8,308 and sells on average 400 tickets per show. She’s also opened for major acts like Andre 3000, Tame Impala, Caroline Polachek and had major festival plays including Pitchfork Music Festival, Austin City Limits, All things Go and Coachella.

Her team includes Ben Dickey, Nicoll Bien of Constant Artists, her U.S. agent is Ali Hedrick at Arrival Artists with Wasserman Music’s David Exley for Europe/UK. She’s also signed to Stones Throw Records.

While Sudan Archives’ (born Brittney Denise Parks) last two albums looked more to the past, The BPM is a look into the future while also exploring themes of mental illness, self-love, technology, romance and heartbreak. The BPM is also an introduction to Sudan’s new persona, “Gadget Girl” who is a technologically advanced musician.

“I was never the girl in a band in high school – I could only express myself for the first time when I got my first iPad and started making beats on it, and when I got my first electric violin,” she said in a statement. “I’m all gadget girled out now, but I’ve never felt so free as a human.”
