WME Signs Matt Mathews

Multi-hyphenate entertainer Matt Matthews has signed with WME as he continues his comedy trek “Boujee On A Budget Tour” and prepares to release his debut music album.

Matthews has racked up a fanbase at 12 million strong with over 1 billion views and counting across social media. As his PR team notes, it’s no wonder, as his “raw, relatable humor [is] drawn from life as a boudoir photographer, barrel racer, farmer, proud Alabamian and LGBTQ+ trailblazer.”

His Live Nation-promoted “Boujee On A Budget Tour,” which kicked off last year, has expanded to 89 shows and counting, with over 150,000 tickets already sold. The second leg of the tour starts Sept. 12 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Highlights include multiple nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and a homecoming show in Birmingham, Alabama, at Legacy Arena at The BJCC, on Dec. 29, marking his first-ever arena show.

“I’m beyond excited to be joining the team at WME,” Matthews said in a statement. “I’ve built so much from the ground up with a small but mighty crew, and now it’s time to level up with a whole new team of people who believe in the vision just as much as I do.  It’s equal parts surreal and overdue – we’re just getting started.”

Matthews’ debut self-titled music album is due out next year, following the success of tracks, “What a War” and “Joke’s On Me,” which were released earlier this year. He’s working with producer Stanton Edward (The Wallflowers, Jewel).

Mathews’ team also includes Oscar Peterson for management; Jeff Jones of FBMM, for business management and Ebie McFarland and Joseph Conner of Essential Broadcast Media for public relations.
