AJR’s Adam Met To Speak At VenuesNow Conference 2025

AJR vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Adam Met – who is also a climate advocate, co-founder of the nonprofit organization Planet Reimagined, author and educator – will take part in a conversation at VenuesNow Conference 2025 with Chris Granger, the President of OVG360 and a passionate sustainability advocate.
Scheduled Sept. 9, the forward-looking discussion on the intersection of sustainability, entertainment, and influence will explore how venues, brands, and cultural icons can leverage their platforms to inspire meaningful climate action and create scalable impact.
Today’s news comes ahead of the release of AJR’s new EP, What No One’s Thinking, due out Sept. 5. The EP includes the single “Betty.” The indie pop band will wrap its “Somewhere in the Sky Tour” on Oct. 4 with its first appearance at the Hollywood Bowl.
In June, Met released the nonfiction book “Amplify: How to Use the Power of Connection to Engage, Take Action, and Build a Better World,” co-written with award-winning journalist Heather Landy. Met, who is an adjunct professor at Columbia University, delivered the keynote address at Columbia Climate School’s Class Day ceremony in May. His accolades include receiving the 2024 TIME Earth Award and being named a New York Times Changemaker for his work as founder and executive director of Planet Reimagined.
In addition to serving as the President of OVG360 – the full-service venue management, venue services, and hospitality arm of Oak View Group – Granger was named the Interim CEO of Oak View Group in July. OVG is the parent company of Pollstar.
The eighth annual VenuesNow Conference will take place Sept. 9-11 at Resorts World Las Vegas. Presented by Lockton and Oracle, the event marks the debut in the entertainment capital of the world and the first time VNC has expanded to three days.
VNC is the preeminent forum for live events, sports, and cultural venue owners and partners to explore industry dynamics, share best practices, and discuss future trends. This year, the three-day conference will feature sessions on bookings, hospitality, premium experiences, technology, and a new half-day of curated programming focused on sustainability across all venue types, touching on energy, water, and waste management, along with strategies to strengthen financial performance, corporate partnerships, and guest experience.
Along with confirming Met’s appearance, today details have been announced for the following sustainability panels:
Impact Leadership in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is an emergent hub for innovation and sustainability leadership, and this session spotlights the people shaping that transformation. Hear from executives driving change across sports, technology, research, and community impact — including leaders from ImpactNV, UNLV, WAVR Technologies, the Vegas Golden Knights, and Formula1 Las Vegas — as they share strategies for aligning business growth with environmental and social responsibility.
Hot Button Issues (Two Sessions)
Navigating Waste Solutions sponsored by Busch Systems
Navigating Energy Solutions
Listen live as venue leaders unpack and dig into pitches from Solution Providers. These two sessions are intentionally built to walk the audience through the process of engaging in solutions and building a sustainability plan on the topics of waste and energy. In a unique format built to equip the audience, the solutions will each pitch for 5 minutes, followed by a lively discussion between them and venue leaders.
The Business Strategy Behind Impact
Sustainability isn’t just an operational goal — it’s a business imperative. In this session, leaders from State Farm Arena, Liverpool FC, the Chicago Cubs, and UBS Arena unpack how impact-driven strategies can drive revenue, deepen fan engagement, and create long-term value for venues and communities alike.
