D.Live now shared that 22 students have enrolled for this first-of-its-kind course, which combines academic expertise with direct practical relevance. It’s an online course, but includes one week of in-person attendance at the university campus in Düsseldorf.
The Bachelor of Live Entertainment and Event Management (B.A.) places a focus on practical learning and industry-specific content. The course lasts seven semesters, during which students will learn the processes of event management from the ground up.
Students will also learn on site at Merkur Spiel-Arena and PSD Bank Dome, operated by D.Live.
Among the speakers, who will hold keynotes and workshops in the course’s first week, which kicked off Sept. 1, are Jana Posth and Marc Seemann from PRK DreamHouse, Björn Gralla and Hendrik Czaster from Contra Promotion, Stephan Thanscheidt from FKP Scorpio, Tim Heuer from Barclays Arena Hamburg, Johannes Everke from BDKV, and René Tumler from EVVC.
A scholarship has been made available for the course, offered to the Female Voice women’s network of German promoters association BDKV. The recipient is Maxine Stumpf from BDKV member BRAINPOOL Live Entertainment GmbH, who is now starting her studies with this funding.
D.Live CEO Michael Brill said, “the fact that we are able to launch the first degree program of its kind in Germany today is a milestone for the entire industry. With over 20 students already enrolled, it is clear that we, together with Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, have struck a chord. We are delighted with this response and can’t wait to get started with the next generation of industry professionals.”
