Oakland Arena upstages other venues with a revolutionary new TAIT Rolling House Stage, the first of its kind in North America.
“With the groundbreaking stage as a permanent feature, Oakland Arena will be able to attract more of the world’s top acts, increase the number of events and drive more traffic and revenue to the arena, resulting in greater impact on the local economy while also saving costs for the venue,” states Nicole Strange, general manager of Oakland Arena in a release. “There is no other stage that has these capabilities and being the only venue in North America with one is truly exciting. The future opportunities and possibilities for its use are endless.”
The TAIT Rolling House Stage is specially designed for the needs of arenas – saving significant time and costs for artists, partners, clients and the venue. Key features of the stage include the ability to roll while loaded with props, audio, video, lights and other essentials; flexibility in building different stage designs; and ease of maintenance and efficient storage.
The Oakland Arena’s new stage is from the same iteration of stages used by major touring artists like Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake and more, who typically tour with their own rolling stages as part of their equipment.
“Uniting with the Oakland Arena team to bring the TAIT Rolling House Stage to our first North American venue is a monumental moment for us,” adds James Chapman, director of business development for TAIT. “This is such a prestigious venue, and working with this team has been a great partnership. They are really pushing boundaries to diversify the experiences they can offer to fans, patrons and the crews that visit here. Through this new relationship, we are already learning more flexible and efficient ways the stage can be used, further helping us to evolve and enhance the system for all.”
Since opening in 1966, Oakland Arena has hosted thousands of top concerts, sporting events, comedy shows and family events including Paul McCartney, Zach Bryan, Nine Inch Nails, Monster Jam and Disney on Ice. Breaking records in recent years with multiple sold-out shows and a robust event calendar, the 19,000-capacity arena ranks as a top performing venue for Legends/ASM Global.
In 45 years, TAIT has grown from pioneering in rock ‘n’ roll concert staging to setting the global standard for live events through cutting-edge technology, precision engineering and creative design. TAIT’s 20 global offices have developed productions and experiences in more than 30 countries including partnerships with Taylor Swift, Cirque Du Soleil, Royal Opera House, Nike, NASA, Bloomberg, Google, Beyoncé and The Olympics.
