EMPOWERING ALLEGIANCE:
Took over Allegiant Stadium management after opening Empower Field, Nationwide Arena.

It’s no great revelation that Las Vegas punches above its demographic weight in the live entertainment game. The country’s 29th largest metropolitan area — its population snugly between that of Pittsburgh and Cincinnati — regularly lands on the podium in Pollstar’s annual Concert Market Rankings. In 2024, it was second behind New York City. And so, then, it’s no shock that Sin City’s biggest venue just as frequently finds its place near the top of the charts.

And indeed it was in 2024, when Allegiant Stadium reported the second-highest grosses of any U.S. stadium (behind the New York metro’s MetLife Stadium).

The man tasked with handling the big business of the big building just off the Strip is Andy Gorchov, the 30-year industry vet who came to Vegas in June 2024 from the also-extremely busy State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and had a previous job running Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, a venue that he opened in 2001, and before, that, Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio.

In addition to the normal slate of Raiders and UNLV Rebels football games, in Gorchov’s just-more-than-a-year at the helm, Allegiant has hosted concerts by Morgan Wallen, P!NK, Billy Joel & Sting, George Strait, Taiwanese star Mayday, AC/DC, Post Malone & Jelly Roll, Kendrick Lamar & SZA, Coldplay, Shakira, The Weeknd and the final two nights of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour.” Chris Brown and Paul McCartney are slated for the coming months.

Notably, the 2025 edition of Wrestlemania had the largest gate in the WWE event’s more-than-four-decade history with more than 124,000 through the turnstiles over two nights in April. ‘Mania will return in 2026.

Though not part of the venue list for the 2026 FiFA World Cup, Allegiant did host high-profile soccer games in 2024 and 2025, with the continental championships Copa America and CONCACAF Gold Cup playing a slate of games there. The College Football Playoff National Championship — which was slated for Allegiant in 2025, but moved due to conflicts with the Consumer Electronics Show — will take the field at Allegiant in 2027.
