FROM STEVIE TO SNOOP:
Orion Amphitheater continues to super serve.

As a venue creator, Ben Lovett has years of experience drawing from touring as a member of Mumford & Sons. And he applies that knowledge to a variety of new venues as the founder and CEO of tvg (the Venue Group), an international venue developer and operator.
“Twenty years of playing shows stage right, 20 years of promoting shows with Communion and now 10 years of trying to build venues that really matter to musicians, to fans, to the communities they live within,” says Lovett.
The company is quietly building a nationwide network of music venues designed to bring people closer to the music, to the artists and each other with scalable spaces that can accommodate emerging artists via mid-size spaces for regional tours and larger venues that bring world-class talent to new markets.
The city-owned and tvg-operated Orion Amphitheater is an 8,000-capacity venue in Huntsville, Alabama that opened in 2022 with a mission of super serving fans and artists, including Willie Nelson, Teddy Swims, Stevie Nicks and Snoop Dogg.
The company acquired Saturn, a 500-capacity club in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2023, and in 2025, opened The Lumberyard, an event and community space in Huntsville that will ultimately be a music venue.
On the horizon, tvg is set to open the 750-cap Pacific Electric in Los Angeles later this year, and they are exploring options for a new venue in Huntsville, aiming for a capacity between 2,500 and 3,000, which would fill a void in the market and complement The Orion. In Detroit, tvg is working to reintroduce the landmark National Theatre as a world-class music and performance venue.
Reflecting on being selected an All-Star, Lovett says “Most of what we do happens behind the scenes – and we like it that way. Still, every now and then, it’s nice to shine a light on our work and feel that recognition and appreciation for the care we put into every detail. … It’s meaningful and the next few venues that we are bringing online will hopefully make it also feel deserved.”
