Barry Manilow Announces Farewell Performances

Before there was Taylor, there was Lola thanks to Barry Manilow. And now the music icon who brought us the first showgirl in “Copacabana (At the Copa)” announced his final concert appearance in nine U.S. cities.

Manilow, 82, will bring his high-wattage, hit-heavy concert to Sunrise, Orlando, Tampa, Estero and Jacksonville in Florida, as well as Charleston, South Carolina, Greensboro, North Carolina, Duluth, Georgia and Columbus, Ohio, in January. The dates mark Manilow’s final concerts in each of these markets.

Tickets for the new tour dates go on sale to the public Sept. 26 at 10:00 AM local time. VIP packages will be available for select shows starting Sept. 23 at 1:00 PM/ET.

Ahead of the farewell tour dates, Manilow released a new single, “Once Before I Go” produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Demonte Posey and written by Peter Allen and Dean Pitchford — adding another classic to his timeless catalog. of hits including “Mandy,” “I Write the Songs,” “Looks Like We Made It,” “Can’t Smile Without You” and “Copacabana (At the Copa).”

With a career spanning five decades, Manilow has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide, earned 51 Top 40 singles including 13 No. 1s and 28 Top 10 hits and was named the No. 1 adult contemporary artist of all time by Billboard and R&R magazines. A member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Manilow has earned Grammy, Tony and Emmy awards and has been honored with the BMI Icon Award.
