‘Health Challenges’ Prompt Dolly Parton Residency Postponement

Dolly Parton has postponed her first Las Vegas residency in more than 30 years, saying “health concerns” are forcing her to delay the planned December shows until September 2026.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges,” the 79-year-old legend wrote on Instagram, “and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
She did not elaborate on the nature of the medical concerns, though she quipped “it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.”
Parton announced the residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which was to coincide with the National Finals Rodeo at Las Vegas’ Thomas & Mack Center, in June, promising to “[weave] together seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites.” The rescheduled dates are now Sept. 17, 19, 20, 23, 25 and 26. Tickets sold for the original dates correspond with the new shows; refunds will be available if needed.
Though she’s performed at special events — with Nile Rogers at the Hammerstein Ballroom and a one-off of her own at the Grand Ole Opry House in 2019 and at the Kenny Rogers Bridgestone Arena tribute show in 2017 — Parton hasn’t had a true headline run since 2016, when she toured a mix of arenas and theaters. A double at the Hollywood Bowl that year sold a combined 28,321 tickets for a total gross of $2,261,813, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
Parton is repped in North America by CAA and managed by CTK Enterprises.
