Lola Young Cancels Performances After Collapsing Onstage

After collapsing onstage in the middle of performing her song “Conceited” at All Things Go Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, on Sept. 27, Lola Young announced she would not be performing her slot at the festival’s Washington, D.C., edition at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, on Sept. 28.
Hours before she was set to take the stage in Washington, D.C., Lola Young wrote on her Instagram story, “I’m sorry to confirm that I won’t be playing All Things Go in D.C. today. I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this. I hope you’ll all give me another chance in the future. Thank you to all those who listen and care. To all the people that love to be mean online, pls give me a day off.”
After collapsing mid-set, Young informed fans she was recovering and wrote to her Instagram story, “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now. Thank you for all of your support, Lola xxx.”
Prior to fainting on stage, Young appeared to be signaling to her team that she was going to faint. She stumbled and fell backwards, her crew rushing to her side within seconds and carrying her off stage.
The night before her performance in Queens, Young’s manager Nick Shymansky shared the singer wouldn’t be able to perform at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert on Sept. 26 due to a “sensitive matter.”
“There are [occasionally] days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe,” Shymansky wrote on social media. “She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
Young is booked by WME’s Alex Bramwell, Lucy Dickins and Kirk Sommer worldwide. With 40 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice, Young has sold 26,488 tickets, grossing $642,889 tickets.
