Andrea Bocelli Enthralls Audience in Greensboro, North Carolina – Announces First U.S. Dates For ‘Romanza – 30th Anniversary World Tour’ With AEG

Backed by 130 symphony musicians and a choir and surrounded by upwards of 13,000 music enthusiasts at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, Maestro Andrea Bocelli stood perfectly still – and soared.
Bocelli’s strength is not the power of his voice. It’s in his range of emotion – nuanced, brilliantly timed and deeply moving.
Blind since childhood, Bocelli’s can nonetheless read a room moving people to tears and garnering several standing ovations in return.
The sweeping repertoire, from “La donna è mobile” to “Di quella pira,” “Granada” and “Notte ‘e piscatore” – a virtual duet with Luciano Pavarotti – was an excellent fit for the large arena. The concert was a spectacle with the orchestra, vivid stage production and guest performers including soprano Larisa Martinez, baritone Edward Parks, violinist Caroline Campbell, contemporary singer Pia Toscano and conductor Maestro Steven Mercurio. But the evening still managed to feel as warm and convivial as Bocelli’s native Tuscany on a Sunday night.

Following the performance, Bocelli announced his first North American dates for “Romanza – 30th Anniversary World Tour” with AEG with seven arena shows across the U.S. with stops at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa; Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida; Lenovo Center in Raleigh; Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama; and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The tour kicks off Feb. 7 at Schottenstein Center in Columbus Ohio and concludes Feb. 25 at United Center in Chicago.
Romanza was the lauded Italian tenor’s breakthrough album in 1997, which also includes the timeless “Con Te Partirò.” The record sold more than 20 million copies and became a worldwide sensation.
“We are proud to celebrate 30 years of Romanza, an album that marked a turning point not only in M° Bocelli’s career, but in the history of Italian classical music worldwide,” his managers Francesco Pasquero and Veronica Berti told Pollstar. “This anniversary tour is both a tribute to that legacy and a celebration of the timeless power of music to connect people across cultures.
“We’re also delighted to begin this new journey with Jay and everyone at AEG, a partner that shares our global vision and commitment to excellence.”
The general ticket on-sale for “Romanza – 30th Anniversary World Tour” launches Oct. 17 at 10:00 AM local time. Ticket presales will begin on Oct. 15 at 10:00 AM local time with the Andrea Bocelli social fan-presale, followed by the American Express presale at 11:00 AM local time.
Tickets for Bocelli’s winter tour are available now. The tour includes 10 shows in major cities including Dallas, Lexington, Hamilton, Boston, Detroit, Hartford, Miami and Washington D.C., as well as a return to Madison Square Garden in New York City for two performances Dec. 17-18 marking 25-years of MSG performances. All shows will be conducted by Mercurio.
In May, Bocelli inked a global exclusive agreement for the creation of his live performances for the next five years with AEG Presents, in collaboration with his management team and WME. The agreement, which takes effect Jan. 1 spans five continents and covers all ticketed live events, including “Romanza – 30th Anniversary World Tour.”
Romanza earned Platinum and Diamond certifications in 20+ countries, including Triple Platinum in the U.S. and Diamond status in Canada. It is both the best-selling Italian-language album and the best-selling predominantly non-English language album of all time. Romanza also topped the charts in 11 countries and reached the top of Billboard’s U.S. World Albums and Top Catalog Albums charts.
On Nov. 14, Mercury Studios will release the deluxe edition of Andrea Bocelli – The Celebration: 30th Anniversary, across multiple formats.
Featuring two discs – “The Celebration” and “30 Years of Musical Inspiration” – the collection spans more than 4.5 hours of performances filmed over three nights in 2024 at the Teatro del Silenzio (Theater of Silence) the iconic open-air amphitheater in Bocelli’s hometown of Lajatico, Tuscany. The event was subsequently turned into a concert film, a PBS TV special, a duets album and the upcoming multi-disc release.
Directed by Grammy nominee and Emmy Award winner Sam Wrench (“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” “Billie Eilish: Live at the O2”), “Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration” features a diverse lineup of international guest artists including Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Russell Crowe, Matteo Bocelli, David Foster and Katherine McPhee, Jon Batiste, Lauren Daigle, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, Brian May and many more.
