Taylor Swift Announces Docuseries & Concert Film Streaming On Disney+

As fans wait for Taylor Swift to announce tour dates in support of her latest album, they’ll get the chance to watch her on the small screen with today’s announcement of a docuseries chronicling “The Eras Tour” and a full concert film featuring The Tortured Poets Department.
“It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety,” Swift wrote in a post on Instagram Oct. 13.
She added, “The Eras Tour | The Final Show, featuring the entire Tortured Poets Department set, and the first two episodes of The End of an Era, a 6-episode behind-the-scenes docuseries will be yours December 12th on @disneyplus.”
An announcement from Disney+ explains that “The End of An Era” offers a behind-the-scenes look at the “development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour,” including Swift’s life as her tour made headlines around the world. The six-episode series – which is directed by Don Argott, co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce and produced by Object & Animal – will feature appearances from performers, family members, and friends including Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch. Two episodes will debut each week starting Dec. 12.
“The Final Show” concert film was filmed on the last stop of “The Eras Tour,” where Swift played three nights at BC Place in Vancouver, British Colombia, Dec. 6-8, 2024. Today’s announcement notes that the film features the entire set of “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was added to the setlist following the album’s release in April 2024. “The Final Show” is directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions.
Swift’s “The Eras Tour” made history last year as the highest grossing tour of all-time – by a substantial margin. Pollstar estimated the tour’s final tally at over $2.2 billion and ticket sales at more than 10 million, the most ever by a solo artist.
