Avett Brothers & Mike Patton’s AVTT/PTTN Announce Debut Festival Performance At Big Ears

The Avett Brothers and Mike Patton have joined forces for their collaborative project, AVTT/PTTN, and their debut festival performance will take place on March 28 at Big Ears in Knoxville, Tennessee. The event will be one of several “additionally ticketed” events as part of this year’s festival, where Big Ears passholders will receive early access and preserved pricing for reserved seats. Remaining tickets will then be made available to the general public.
“We have saved our virgin live performance for a worthy suitor… and they have Big Ears!” Patton said in a statement. “We are delighted to be playing at this exciting and forward-thinking festival.”
The upcoming album, which is slated for release on Nov. 14, features eight original songs and one folk traditional track. Produced by Mike Patton and Scott Avett, two singles, including “Eternal Love” and “Heaven’s Breath,” are already available.
“Mike’s part of our DNA, like the fabric of our youth,” The Avett Brothers’ Scott said in a statement. “Literally, we studied him. He’s a dear friend now, but when we were younger, I was imitating him.”
Patton added, “My peculiar challenge in this was the become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some shit. They brought him out years and years later.”
The Avett Brothers are managed by Ramseur Records nd booked by New Frontier Touring’s Paul Lohr. With 577 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice since 2003, the band has sold a total of 2.3 million tickets with a total gross of $115.1 million. On average, The Avett Brothers sell 4,004 tickets per show, with an average gross of $199,490, according to Pollstar’s Boxoffice.
Information regarding when the presale and general on sale begin will be announced within the next couple weeks.
