Pohoda Festival Slovakia Adds Fourth Day For 30th Anniversary

Pohoda Festival Slovakia announced the addition of a fourth festival day for its 30th anniversary, scheduled to go down July 8-11, 2026 at Trenčín Airport. This new festival day, Wednesday, July 8, will be headlined by The Cure. The other bands performing will be selected by Robert Smith himself.

It’s the first time The Cure perform at Pohoda. It marks the realization of a long-held dream for the entire festival team around festival director Michal Kaščák, who commented: “I consider The Cure to be such an influential band in music history that I’ve wanted to bring them to Pohoda ever since the festival began inviting international stars. It seemed impossible…But then the opportunity arose to organize an extra festival day, and what I’d been trying to achieve for more than twenty years was finally made possible within just a month, thanks to the fantastic cooperation of the band’s agent.

The Cure is repped by Primary Talent International’s Martin Hopewell and Charlie Renton in Europe.

Tickets for the extra festival day with The Cure are on sale, as are general festival tickets. Three-day tickets start at €129 ($150), with the Cure upgrade going for €79 ($92). A one-day ticket just to see The Cure costs €99 ($115), and full four-day Pohoda ticket starts at €208 ($242).

The first thousand tickets in each category are available at a discounted price. Age-related discounts are available.

Boomtown UK Announces First Wave Of Acts

When Boomtown returns to Matterley Estate in Hampshire, England, Aug. 12-16, 2026, it’ll appear in a radical redesign, which is also next year’s theme.

The first wave of acts announced for Boomtown 2026 include Belfast’s politically charged trio Kneecap, New York’s Scissor Sisters, icons of glam-pop and drag performance, Madness, Skrillex, Four Tet, Faithless, who’ll celebrate their 30th anniversary at the festival next year, Scooter, and Jamaican showman Shaggy. Ashnikko, U.S. rap veteran Eve, Notion, Princess Nokia, Groove Armada, 999999999, Floating Points, Wilkinson, Antony Szmierek, Skindred, High Vis, Big Special, and others are on the lineup as well.

Speaking about the new direction in the festival’s booking, Boomtown co-founder Luke Mitchell commented, “While bass music has dominated in recent years and will always be at our core, we’re making a conscious move to keep Boomtown musically diverse and unpredictable. Expect more live bands and more cross-genre adventures. That’s where Boomtown began, and it’s what keeps us on the truest path forward.”

Boomtown is also gearing up for major updates to how the city will be built next summer – finding harmony with its home in the South Downs National Park. The Boomtown city will expand with a new district, major site changes, and an evolved creative direction.

Introducing Boomtown’s new blueprint, and the purpose behind these changes, Mitchell said: “Our 2026 event will encapsulate everything we love: intricate film-set worlds, twisting storylines, bouncing dancefloors, and diverse expressions of music and art. This time with more space to breathe – more nature, more woodland, more hidden places everywhere. Inspired by our surroundings, we are exploring how nature, science and technology can work together to improve our collective futures. Fragmentation isn’t destruction, it’s transformation. By breaking what we know, we uncover new ways of being.”

Tickets go on sale Oct. 31.
