LA’s Historic United Theater On Broadway Announces In-House Marketing & Booking Team

Los Angeles’ historic 98-year-old opulent live entertainment gem The United Theater on Broadway is establishing an in-house marketing and booking team.
Chris Diaz, newly appointed Director of Booking & Programming, who previously held positions with The Roxy/Goldenvoice, The Regent Theater/Spaceland and Knitting Factory Hollywood)will oversee a diverse field of live bookings including music, comedy and film.
“The United Theater has hosted nearly a century of stories. Our job now is to fill it with the next generation’s soundtrack by celebrating both legacy and discovery,” he said
Marketing Manager Courtney Knopf, formerly of Everloving Records, Like Management and Knitting Factory Hollywood, will lead external marketing, partnerships and community engagement, while overseeing social and media strategy alongside creative agency Super Evil Genius.
“United Artists got its start as a means to cultivate creative independence over corporate control, and we get to carry that same spirit forward into the venue’s future. I’m excited to work together again with Chris as stewards for the theater’s next phase,” she said
Diaz and Knopf will operate under the leadership of General Manager Serena Fortier, a Berklee College of Music graduate and former touring musician who spent over a decade in studio operations at New York’s Avatar Recording Studios. Since 2017 Fortier has held nearly every position in the theater, as she detailed in a May 2025 Pollstar Premium Weekly story about the historic venue.
Formerly known as the Theater at the Ace Hotel, the 1,600-seat United Theater opened in 1927 as the crown jewel of United Artists Studio’s theatrical empire by Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, D.W. Griffith and Douglas Fairbanks.
It began operating as The United Theater on Broadway in 2024.
Alongside the personnel announcement, the theater is announcing a three-night stand by Not For Radio, the solo project of The Marías María Zardoya, Jan. 22-24. Tickets are available here.
