Ari Emanuel’s MARI Buys IMG’s Arts, Entertainment & Action Sports Properties From Endeavor

MARI, the holding company launched by WME Group executive chairman and TKO CEO to house, among other things, assets he’s purchased from Endeavor after Silver Lake took that company private earlier this year, has acquired IMG’s arts, entertainment and action sports portfolios from Endeavor.
The sports side includes the U.S. Open of Surfing and the Nike Melbourne Marathon. The A&E sector includes Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, which draws 3 million attendees annually, and the Taste series of culinary festivals.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The move continues MARI’s roll-up of former Endeavor properties; Emanuel previously served as the company’s CEO.
MARI had already purchased IMG’s tennis events and art-fair producer Frieze. MARI is also now majority owner of luxury car auction house and lifestyle brand Barrett-Jackson. The holding company recently purchased Broadway ticket platform TodayTix.
“From London’s iconic Hyde Park Winter Wonderland to Taste Festivals worldwide, MARI’s growing presence across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia furthers our ambition to build a global portfolio of cultural, lifestyle and sporting events that connect millions of people through live experiences,” Emanuel said in a statement.
