The redux of The Greatest includes a re-recording of James Brown’s classic “Try Me.” It also incudes a rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Prince, “ and it was recorded in tribute to late guitarist Teenie Hedges, a member of the Memphis Rhythm Band that backed Cat Power on the album back in 2006. Cat Power was backed by Dirty Delta Blues — a group comprising guitarist Judah Bauer, keyboardist Gregg Foreman, bassist Erik Paparozzi and drummer Jim White — throughout the recording process, and the redux of The Greatest was recorded by Grammy-winning engineer Stuart Sikes.
Cat Power has consistently toured the globe and performed in North America, Europe and Asia. One of the artist’s most successful headliners was a show at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. The sold-out March 2024 concert grossed $98,386 off 875 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.
