Taio Cruz Signs With IAG – Exclusive

British electro pop definer Taio Cruz has signed with Independent Artist Group for representation worldwide and in all areas.
“Taio’s music has moved millions around the world – now it’s time to bring that energy back to the stage,” says Harold Froget, IAG signing and point agent for Cruz. “IAG is proud to represent a true international hitmaker whose impact on pop culture is undeniable.”
Cruz’s career as an artist, writer and producer spans two+ decades and 100 million singles sold worldwide. He helped define the early 2010s EDM-pop wave with club-driving beats and synths.
Born Adetayo Ayowale Onile-Ere in London to Nigerian and Brazilian parents, Cruz began writing music professionally at 19 and gained early recognition when he co-wrote Will Young’s 2004 single “Your Game,” which won a Brit Award for Best British Single in 2005.
Cruz released his R&B-styled debut album Departure in 2008, which he wrote, arranged and produced himself. It was a commercial success in the UK, achieving Gold certification with his Top 10 UK hit “Come On Girl.” His second album, Rokstarr (2009), marked a shift to an EDM-pop sound and brought him international fame. The lead single, “Break Your Heart” (featuring Ludacris for the U.S. release), topped charts in both the UK and the U.S. The hit was followed by the equally successful single “Dynamite,” a global hit that peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Throughout his career, Cruz has collaborated with artists including Kylie Minogue, Kesha, Flo Rida, David Guetta and Jennifer Lopez, often writing and producing their songs. He also founded his own fashion and accessories brand, initially called Rokstarr and later rebranded as RXTR. Cruz is managed by Jamie Binns at Lateral Management.
