Bad Bunny has officially kicked off his most ambitious tour yet. The global megastar performed the first two sold-out shows for his “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour” in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, this past weekend.

He performed back-to-back concerts at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez, singing in front of 50,000 fans each night. It’s an early indication of what’s to come for the global touring circuit with Bad Bunny’s record-setting 56-date stadium trek, which includes shows in Europe, Australia, Latin America and Japan.

Bad Bunny’s celebration of Puerto Rican and Latino culture opened with a visualizer with two boys hearing news of the artist not wanting to leave Puerto Rico, acknowledging his groundbreaking “No Me Quiero Ir de Aqui” residency last summer at Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The boys begin singing the intro to “LA MuDANZA,” and Bad Bunny finally made his appearance to dozens of thousands of screaming fans.

The three-act show lasted more than two hours, transporting audiences into Bad Bunny’s beloved home of Puerto Rico with massive LED screens. The superstar localized the visualizers using the beloved stop-motion animated character Concho—an endangered Puerto Rican crested toad that has become a mascot for Bad Bunny’s latest album—who expresses his excitement about visiting the Dominican Republic and his desire to try the local food.

The first act got the party started with hits like “CALLAITA,” “WELTiTA,” “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” and “NUEVAYoL,” and the second moved the audience to “La Casita,” where Bad Bunny delivered a house party atmosphere with songs like “MONACO, “Yo Perreo Sola, “La Romana,” “VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR” and many more.

Bad Bunny also sang an exclusive song for each night, performing “25/8” on the first night and “Dema Ga Ge Gi Go Gu” on Night 2.

Romeo Santos surprised the crowd with an appearance during the second night to perform a bachata rendition of “BoKETE,” and Bad Bunny later closed the evening by projecting photos of the crowd and then performing “EoO” with pyrotechnics lighting up the sky.

Next up for Bad Bunny are two shows in Costa Rica on Dec. 5 and 6. His tour, which is presented by Live Nation and Rimas Nation, drew more than 10 million fans to online sales queues earlier this year, and more than 2.6 million tickets for his stadium shows were sold across 18 countries and four continents.

Before going on tour, Bad Bunny won Album of the Year at the Latin Grammys and became the first Spanish-language artist to earn Grammy nominations in the major categories—Album, Record and Song of the Year—in the same year.

Bad Bunny is managed by Noah Assad of Rimas Entertainment and booked by United Talent Agency’s David Zedeck and Jbeau Lewis. The artist’s 31-date residency in Puerto Rico last summer was a major success, drawing more than 400,000 people to his home and making an economic impact.
