WME Names Rob Markus Head Of International Music Team

WME announced Dec. 1 that Rob Markus has been promoted to Head of International for the agency’s contemporary music team. He is a senior partner at WME and based at the company’s Beverly Hills headquarters.

Markus has worked at WME for more than 20 years and during that time he’s helped build the agency’s Latin Music group, along with playing a key role in expanding the Lollapalooza festival brand into Argentina, Brazil and Chile. His roster includes a number of top Latin artists including  Danny Ocean, Gustavo Mioto, Humbe, J Balvin, Juanes, Maluma, Nathy Peluso, Paulo Londra and Pedro Sampaio, as well as artists from a range of genres such as A Perfect Circle, Avenged Sevenfold, Depeche Mode, Kygo, Måneskin, Nine Inch Nails, Paul Anka, The Flaming Lips, The Hives, Toto, Will Smith, and others.

Prior to joining WME, Markus ran EMI and Virgin Records in Hungary and set up EMI Music Publishing in Eastern Europe.  

Today’s announcement – which was made by Lucy Dickins, Global Head of Contemporary Music and Touring, and Kirk Sommer, Global Co-Head of Contemporary Music and Touring – notes that Markus will oversee all aspects of the agency’s international touring and strategy for contemporary music.
