Margo Price and her band joined in a long and storied outlaw country tradition Dec. 9, performing for more than 400 inmates at the Women’s Therapeutic Residential Center at the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning.

“It was one of the most important gigs of my career. I’ve never felt that kind of emotional, receptive energy from an audience before,” Price wrote on Substack. “They needed to hear the music, and I needed to deliver it.”

Price also announced she’s working on a documentary and live album chronicling her visit to the facility.

“We’re documenting this experience and will eventually release a full live album recorded inside those walls. I’ll share more when the time feels right,” she wrote.

Price, who has tour dates coming in February, is repped in North America by Jonathan Levine at Wasserman Music.
