Swedish metal stars Sabaton have brought their EU/UK headline run “The Legendary Tour” to a close at 3Arena Stockholm in the capital of their homeland Sweden, Dec. 13, making them the first Swedish heavy metal band to ever headline the stadium.

Over the course of the last month, Sabaton visited 13 countries with 11 buses housing 220 members of crew, travelling with 25 trucks packed with a staggering 420 tonnes of equipment that brought their acclaimed stage show to life.

The 3Arena show in Stockholm saw the band perform to a 25,000 fans. The stadium can usually hold around 35,000, but the band’s massive production meant the capacity was limited to 25,000 on Dec. 13.

The band’s bassist Pär Sundström said it was “the biggest headline concert in our career and our first ever stadium show.”

Highlights of the EU and UK legs of “The Legendary Tour” taken from the Pollstar Boxoffice include 15,232 ticket sold and $1,164,326 grossed on their Nov. 14 performance at Lanxess Arena Cologne, Germany; a Nov. 18 performance at Hallenstadion Zürich in Switzerland, moving 11,604 tickets at a $1,406,628 gross; and 8,168 ticket sold and $667,214 grossed at their Dec. 5 performance in Manchester, England, at Co-op Live.

On their new album Legends, released in October, the band around Joakim Brodén (vocals), Pär Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar), Hannes Van Dahl (drums) delve into some of history’s greatest and most loved characters such as Jeanne D’arc (also known as Joan of Arc), Hannibal, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Julius Caesar, the Knights Templar, and the legendary swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi.

“The Legendary Tour” saw some of these legends brought to life on the stage by actors.

Sabaton will resume touring in 2026, with their itinerary taking them through North America for 32-dates kicking off Feb. 9, 2026 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The trek will hit venues across the U.S. and Canada, including major stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston before wrapping in Vancouver, BC in April.

Tickets and VIP packages are on sale.

Comments:

Pär Sundström, bassist, Sabaton: “‘The Legendary Tour’ needed to tell a story and go out with a bang. Stockholm was the biggest headline concert in our career and our first ever stadium show.

“The tour was unique in many ways. We ignored the tradition of bringing other bands along with us, and instead created The Legendary Orchestra and brought actors to create an evening with Sabaton, against all advice!

“We brought a stadium-sized production to arenas with a party of 200 travelling crew building our show. So concluding in a stadium was a great way to not only test us as a band but also test our production for these kinds of venues. In the end it was amazing to see our castle in its right environment, staging a show that was emotional for a lot of people involved in the tour.”

Guenther Beer, agent, Cobra Agency: “This tour was truly legendary in every sense. A monumental production far beyond conventional arena scale, built by a 200-plus-strong crew and brought to life by professional actors, the Legendary Orchestra, and Sabaton at the absolute peak of their powers. Across 22 shows, The Legendary Tour sold more than 250,000 tickets, culminating in a historic milestone: Sabaton’s first-ever stadium headline show — sold out, naturally.

“Sabaton don’t just sing about history, they make it. The Legendary Tour is yet another defining chapter in the story of this unique and outstanding band… and many more chapters are still to come!”

Alan Day, promoter, Action! Presents / Kilimanjaro Live: “I met this band playing to less than 50 people at SXSW. I’ve been honoured to be a part of their journey since, from the London Garage to The O2. Self-managed, fiercely independent and loyal, their determination to succeed hasn’t slowed once and has seen them now headlining major European festivals and stadiums.”

David Maloney, promoter of the Swedish show: “History has been made. A power metal band from a small town in Sweden, have gone from tiny club shows to headlining Sweden Rock Festival, and in the same year being the first Swedish Heavy Metal band to play a stadium show in Sweden. It is simply unbelievable! Without the help from mainstream media or a major label deal, they have made this possible thanks to hard work and 100% dedication to their fans. I am so proud to be a part of this journey – Sabaton are the true legends.”
