Twee Pioneers Heavenly Announce World Tour

Some called it “twee,” others “jangle.” The band itself preferred “indiepop,” but whatever its name, Heavenly pioneered the sound. Now the band is back for a “slow motion” world tour in 2026.

Emerging from Oxford in the late 80s and early 90s, Heavenly combined a melodic instrumentation and sound with often dark lyrical content, influencing acts on both sides of the Atlantic. Rediscovered by a new generation, the band’s first album of new music in 30 years — Highway to Heavenly — will hit shelves Feb. 27, two days after a performance at Coventry’s Just Dropped In, the first date on a 28-stop world tour.

The band will play a mix of UK and Continental Europe shows through April and then cross to North America, launching at Washington, D.C’s Black Cat for a leg that includes clubs and theaters in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and more. Three May dates in Spain precede a six-date run up the North American west coast, with the tour wrapping June 28 in Vancouver.

Tickets are on sale for most dates, with the west coast dates going on sale January 9.
