AURA Festival Bulgaria Moves To Bigger Site For Second Edition

Aura Festival Bulgaria returns in 2026 with an expanded site and program, June 19–21, relocating to Sofia Airport Park, a new site that is not bound by the 11 p.m. curfew in place at last year’s premiere.
According to the promoters at Fest Team, “the new location offers greater flexibility and a more suitable environment for large-scale immersive experiences,” and events will run from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The new festival site will also boast “even more out of this world production, spectacular lights and world class sound systems” than festivalgoers have come to expect from the successful premiere of Aura in 2025, when it took place at Arena Sofia.
Bulgaria with its diverse terrain and seemingly infinite scenic locations, is one of Europe’s fastest-growing festival destinations. Aura, dedicated to electronic dance music, is one of the newest additions to this offer.
The country is easily accessible via many travel routes from across Europe, and with Bulgaria adopting the Euro as currency from 2026, tourism should become even more streamlined than it already is.
Fest Team CEO Stefan Elenkov, a 2025 Impact International Honoree, told Pollstar that the East of Europe could no longer be considered a secondary market, and Bulgaria has been leading this development.
“Bulgaria and the Balkans aren’t secondary markets anymore,” he said, “we consistently deliver high-impact events, overcome logistical challenges, and offer passionate, engaged audiences. From festival mainstays to sold-out stadium shows, we’re evidence that this region is ripe with opportunity, and Fest Team is ready to help artists make their mark here.”
No Longer Secondary Markets: Eastern Europe Is Growing, Stable & Steady
The 2026 edition of Aura is presented under the theme “Temple of EOS,” which forms part of Aura’s ongoing conceptual narrative that’ll be brought to life by a multi-stage environment that combines music, large-scale stage architecture and visual installations.
Aura’s 2026 lineup spans a wide spectrum of electronic music, from melodic and progressive sounds to high-intensity techno. Announced so far are Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas, Alok, Mahmut Orhan, 999999999, Yousuke Yukimatsu, BIIA, Laura van Dam, Jesabel, MATTN, Topic, Avalan Rokston, Youna, Gallya, Bobe, and World Up DJs (Dimo BG, Milen DJ, Silver Ivanov, Vasco C).
