The Flaming Lips, The Black Angels, Thee Sacred Souls Top Austin Psych Fest

The Flaming Lips, The Black Angels and Thee Sacred Souls will headline the three days of Austin Psych Fest, set for The Far Out Lounge May 8-10.

Joining the The Flaming Lips Friday are dream-poppeers DIIV, indie rock band Momma, shoegaze outfit Glare, Brazilian psych act Boogarins, along with Starcleaner Reunion and local psych staples Holy Wave,.

The Black Angels Saturday headline set will commemorate the 20th anniversary of their album Passover. The band will follow sets by garage rocker Ty Segall, psych-poppers Melody’s Echo Chamber, New Candys out of Italy, pan-Arab psych funk innovators Al Qasar,and ATX favorites Grocery Bag and Annabelld Chairlegs.

On the fest’s final day, Thee Sacred Souls will top a bill that includes La Lom, Trish Toledo, Night Beats, Dumbo Gets Mad, Money Chica, Como Las Movies and a DJ set from Adrian Quesada.
