Abbey Road Studios is gearing up to perform its first-ever rave, with Soulwax headlining the one-off event, “Abbey Road After Hours,” taking place on Feb. 21 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The London studio will host 300 attendees during the show. Admission is free via a public ballot, entered through calling +447886 072699.

Soulwax, made up of brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, will curate the night. The upcoming show will also include a performance from their alter ego, 2manydjs, along with other special guests. The show will also mark the first major showcase of the DEEWEE Soundsystem, Abbey Road’s custom-built speaker array inspired by the Paradise Garage system in New York.

Ahead of the show, Soulwax will record at Abbey Road’s Studio Two alongside a full band, with the new tracks to be played during the show.

“It’s hard to say whether we have a perverse or healthy attraction to crazy ideas – that’s for others to decide,” Soulwax said in a statement. “But being approached with a crazy idea by the most iconic recording studio in music history makes it impossible to refuse. We embrace the challenge and sincerely hope this won’t be the last rave at Abbey Road.”

Based off of the 20 headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice, Soulwax has sold an average of 1,555 tickets per show, making for an average gross of $65,578.

Abbey Road’s Director of Marketing & Creative, Mark Robertson, said in a statement, “I’ve talked about hosting a rave here for years, so it’s a genuine thrill to have Soulwax curate the first night. Studio One has been home to countless era-defining firsts – from Elgar to John Williams – and opening it to bold new forms of creativity feels both true to our heritage and excitingly audacious.”
