Casey Wasserman To Continue Serving As Chair Of 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

While Wasserman Music is facing fallout following Casey Wasserman’s ties to Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, the leaders of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics determined they had reviewed Wasserman’s past conduct and should continue serving as chair of LA28 after meeting on Feb. 11.
“We found Mr. Wasserman’s relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has been publicly documented,” the Executive Committee of the Board said in a statement. “Twenty-three years ago, before Mr. Wasserman or the public knew of Epstein and Maxwell’s deplorable crimes, Mr. Wasserman and his then-wife flew on a humanitarian mission to Africa on Epstein’s plane at the invitation of the Clinton Foundation. This was his single interaction with Epstein. Shortly after, he traded the publicly-known emails with Maxwell. The Executive Committee of the Board has determined that based on these facts, as well as the strong leadership he has exhibited over the past ten years, Mr. Wasserman should continue to lead LA28 and deliver a safe and successful games.”
Wasserman has been under intense scrutiny following the release of the latest round of Epstein emails, which revealed raunchy exchanges with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s jailed associate. Already, clients Chappell Roan, Orville Peck, Best Coast and Chelsea Cutler, among others, have made public statements announcing they have dropped the agency for representation in light of Wasserman’s associations.
The agency has been exploring its options over the last couple of weeks, with possible scenarios of keeping both name and ownership (which could lead to an exodus of agents and artists, diminishing the agency’s value), selling to a competitor agency, or various agents currently at Wasserman moving to create companies of their own. Pollstar presented a deeper dive on various solutions, which can be read here. In light of the Olympic Committee’s decision to have Wasserman remain, this could bode well for his options in regards to how to handle the current ongoing crises at his agency.
