Moby Releases New Album, Gears Up For Coachella & Euro Tour

Ahead of his appearance at Coachella in April, Moby has released his latest album, Future Quiet, today via BMG. Plus, he’s lined up his biggest European tour in a decade, with dates booked from late June through August.
An announcement from his team notes that his upcoming plans “represent one of the most significant touring moments of his career. This is not simply a return to the stage, but a defining new phase–one that connects past, present and a new generation of listeners across Europe.”
Future Quiet is described as a striking new chapter for Moby, with the 14-track album filled with piano minimalism, immersive ambient soundscapes and select vocal collaborations. The LP provides a reflection on the tension between today’s hyper-connected modern life and the need for stillness.
“‘Future Quiet’ is, not surprisingly, quiet,” Moby says in a statement. “To be clear; I love bombast. I love excess and volume. But as the world gets louder and crazier I find myself needing the refuge of quiet. Writing and recording it was a refuge for me, and I hope that listening to it is a refuge for you.”
The album includes a new orchestral reworking of “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die,” featuring Jacob Lusk, who is best known for his work with the acclaimed Gabriels. The tune was originally released in 1995 on Everything Is Wrong and has become Moby’s most streamed song and gone viral on TikTok thanks to its use in Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”
Moby says, “It’s reaching hundreds of millions of people annually, which is both wonderful and surprising, especially as it was an obscure song with no drums or bass and was never released as a single.”
The 28-date European tour follows Moby’s seven sold-out Euro shows in 2024, which earned praise from publications including The Guardian (“head-rush thrills”) and The Telegraph (“a stupendous show”). Moby, who is a longtime activist, donated 100% of the profits to European animal rights organisations.
The upcoming trek begins with a June 26 appearance in Odense, Denmark at Tinderbox Festival and includes gigs in Athens, Madrid, Budapest, London, Dublin and more. Check out the routing below.
