The Sportpark Stadion GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany, has launched a Europe-wide tender for general planning services for the planned multifunctional arena, which will be built next to Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park.

“The tender covers planning services for the preliminary assessment and conceptual design phases,” a press release from Frankfurt states, adding, “The objective is to develop the project’s conceptual and functional foundations and to establish a reliable basis for decision-making for the subsequent steps. The contract award is scheduled for July 2026.”

The planned arena is supposed “to sustainably strengthen professional indoor sports in Frankfurt. For the Skyliners and Löwen Frankfurt, the new venue will open up long-term prospects in terms of infrastructure, marketing opportunities, spectator comfort, and competitiveness. At the same time, it will provide flexible usage options for additional sports and cultural events at both national and international levels.”

The arena will have a maximum capacity of 15,000 for concerts, and complement the adjacent 58,000-capacity Deutsche Bank Park stadium.

The multifunctional arena will be a key component in the further development of our city—economically, socially, and culturally. We are creating a place that brings people together and has international appeal,” says Mayor Mike Josef.

Moritz Schneider, Managing Director of SSF, emphasizes: “The tendering of the general planner marks the transition from strategic preparation to the concrete planning phase. Our ambition is to develop an arena that meets the requirements of modern professional sports while also serving as a versatile event venue for Frankfurt and the wider region.”
