No Más Festival: La Onda In Napa ‘No Longer Taking Place’ This Year

The third year isn’t the charm for Festival La Onda by BottleRock. The event’s organizers announced Monday afternoon that this year’s edition of the Latin music festival in Napa, California, “will no longer be taking place.” No reason for the cancellation was provided in the social media post.

The two-day event was scheduled to take place May 30 and 31 at Napa Valley Expo in Northern California. Maná, Christian Nodal, J Balvin and Ivan Cornejo were announced as headliners less than two weeks ago.

“We remain hopeful that a future Festival La Onda will be possible,” the team behind the festival posted on its website. “Until then, we are proud of what we created together and deeply grateful to the fans who supported La Onda.”

Fans who purchased passes via Front Gate Tickets will receive a full refund within 30 days. Visit laondafest.com for more information about refunds.

The organizers behind BottleRock, 38 Latitude, jumped into the Latin festival circuit three years ago when the inaugural La Onda was announced. The first edition in 2024 featured Maná, Fuerza Regida, Alejandro Fernández and Junior H as headliners, and other artists on the bill included Café Tacvba, Mon Laferte, Eslabon Armado and Farruko.

The 2025 edition of the festival also featured a stacked lineup with Marco Antonio Solís, Carín León, Tito Double P, Banda MS, Pepe Aguilar, Xavi and more.

With many Latin artists on the road for their own tours and others experiencing visa delays, it hasn’t been easy for festival bookers to secure talent and find new acts each year. The cost of putting on a concert, let alone a multi-day festival, is another challenge for organizers, and fans are having to pay a premium for such events.

Festival La Onda isn’t the first large-scale Latin music event to go down recently. In 2024, Bésame Mucho in Los Angeles was abruptly canceled less than a month before the festival, and there hasn’t been any announcement of a third Bésame Mucho in Texas. In October, Organizers of New York’s Migo Fest, which aimed to celebrate the corridos subgenre, called off the show 24 hours before artists took the stage because of visa issues.

Sueños Festival is still going strong and has become a Chicago staple every May. The fifth edition of the festival was recently announced with J Balvin, Kali Uchis, Fuerza Regida, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Danny Ocean, Yandel, Manuel Turizo, Ryan Castro and many more set to perform.
