Shakira closed the Mexican leg of her historic “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour” with a special treat for Mexico City, where she performed 13 sold-out concerts at the iconic Estadio GNP Seguros. The Colombian superstar played a free concert at the Zócalo on March 1 and drew a whopping 400,000 people, making it the largest crowd ever assembled at the famous square of the nation’s capital.

“Four hundred thousand hearts beat, were excited and sang in unison during the great concert that Shakira offered in the historic center of the capital,” the Mexican Secretariat of Tourism wrote on a social media post. “Long live the greatness of our city and its stages to enjoy different artistic expressions!”

Shakira performed a full set for the large crowd and shared some words about the country’s reception toward her and the tour.

“Today, I feel a mix of emotions, nostalgia and gratitude because today is the last day of our tour in Mexico, my home,” Shakira told the large crowd. “This is a story of love and friendship that we have between us, that I have with Mexico. It doesn’t compare to anything.”

It was an appropriate sendoff for Shakira, who set box office records with 13 sold-out concerts at Estadio GNP Seguros and performed across the country. OCESA, the country’s biggest promoter, said the artist sold more than 800,000 tickets in Mexico City alone and holds the record for most sold-out performances in the Estadio GNP Seguros’ storied history.

Shakira played seven shows at the venue in March of 2025 and grossed $46,635,153 off 396,000 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice, and returned for four more in August, a brief run that grossed more than $24 million. She squeezed in additional shows at Estadio GNP Seguros in between visits to other Mexican markets, which included Puebla, Guadalajara and Querétaro.

“I feel at home. 13 concerts at Estadio GNP. I can’t believe it. It’s a dream you’ve made come true for me,” Shakira said in a statement.

Her success in the country and everywhere else vaulted her to No. 5 on Pollstar’s 2025 Top 200 Worldwide Tours with a total of $320 million. The tour in support of her 12th studio album is her first since 2018 and is not only the highest grossing of Shakira’s career but also the most successful trek by a female Latin artist. The tour has had a major cultural, social and economic impact on Latin American countries, and her production proved that tertiary markets in the region are viable touring destinations.

Shakira is managed by Nadine Eliya and booked worldwide by WME’s Keith Sarkisian.
