Frictionless Self-Serve Market Launched At Co-op Live

Co-op Live has launched an autonomous, AI-powered self-serve market, “marking the first installation of its kind” in Europe, according to today’s press announcement.

The newly redesigned market, built in partnership with Oak View Group (Pollstar’s parent company), and run on AI technology by AiFi as well as self-pour technology by Boxbar’s, has been engineered “to maximize speed, throughput and convenience during peak event times,” according to the press release.

Customers tap their card or other cashless payment method upon entering the bar area, pick up whichever product they fancy, and walk out again. No tills, no queues. The AI powered camera technology automatically tracks which products got purchased and by which customer.

The underlying AI technology is known as “Computer vision,” which uses AI to recognize and interpret surroundings, in this case the Co-op Live store and all products within it.

Age verification is carried out by Co-op Live staff at the entry point to the store, which is located in Vertu Place on Level 00 of the building.
