Thrash metal icons Anthrax have signed with Independent Artist Group for worldwide representation.

The band will be represented by agents Peter Pappalardo and Nick Storch.

Formed in New York in 1981, the band, among the pioneers of the genre, is considered one of the Big Four of Thrash alongside Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth (with whom the band is currently touring).

Anthrax’s 1987 album Among the Living is considered one of the seminal albums of thrash, though the band is also known for its boundary pushing and crossover efforts, including a much-heralded collaboration on “Bring the Noise” with hip-hop legends Public Enemy in 1991 that portended the rise of rap metal later in the decade.

Anthrax’s current lineup features Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Joey Belladonna, Frank Bello, and Jon Donais.

“Anthrax have been one of the most important and influential bands in heavy music for more than four decades,” said IAG’s Peter Pappalardo and Nick Storch. “Their legacy, catalog, and live show continue to inspire generations of fans, and we’re thrilled to work with them worldwide.”

Anthrax’s Pollstar Boxoffice history includes 189 headline reports dating back to 1999 with a gross on those reports of more than $34 million.
