AMY DAVIDSON’s LANDMARK YEAR

• We are in the thick of preparing for a festival run in South America while also prepping to headline Coachella. I am so excited for both of these projects.

• Kicked off with Sabrina [Carpenter] winning a Grammy, which felt so satisfying after we had all poured our heart and souls into that campaign.

• Added Marina and HAIM to our roster.

• Grew staff at Volara adding day-to-day managers Bianca Nour and Dasha Johnson.
  
  HOW SHE GOT INTO THE INDUSTRY
  
• I worked in international development as a director of operations for clean water projects in developing countries. A close friend who worked in music thought I could be great at tour managing. I was burnt out at my job and she offered me a tour management role when I had absolutely no experience.

• I literally googled “what does a tour manager do,” but as we all know the only real way to learn is to just do it and make mistakes.
  
  WOMAN IN THIS BIZ

• I see so many artists looking for great women engineers, techs, directors, etc. to come alongside them to put together live shows.

• There is something women bring to the live space that is different and beautiful and important.

• A challenge is that there are sadly not often enough spaces given to allow women the opportunity to learn and get the experience needed to get “the call.”
