PHILOSOPHY | “Keep pushing. It’s truly as simple as that.”

It was a year of change for Caroline Yim. She moved from WME, where she’d been co-head of hip-hop and R&B, to United Talent Agency in April. And it’s been a whirlwind of successes since.

“It’s been incredible to not only immerse myself within our amazing music department, but also see the trajectory of our R&B and hip-hop business, driven by new signings like Victoria Monét, Don Toliver, Rico Nasty, and the onboarding of agents Adam Sherif, Alex Baranello and Matt Reinberg,” she says.

“Our clients continue to set the bar higher with each release, each performance, and each tour. From Givēon’s sold-out ‘Dear Beloved, The Tour,’ to Monaleo’s massively successful ‘Who Did The Body’ Tour and breakout year, to Doechii’s ‘Live from the Swamp’ tour, Grammy wins, Levi’s campaign and more  – our artists are everywhere.”

Yim keeps pushing — not just for her clients and herself, but for other women. She says it’s not just a matter of getting talented women into the live business. It’s keeping them there.

“There are not enough women who stay in live entertainment. I want to encourage our younger generation of women to stay in the field. Building roots is important – give it a chance!” she says. “Educate yourself on all the positions that are available in the live space and know your options. By sticking together and strengthening our position, we’ll have cultivated a community for the next generation of female touring professionals.”

And Yim — who keeps her work-life balance by taking up “yoga, acupuncture, tennis” and following her beloved Dodgers and Lakers — will keep pushing through 2026.

“There’s so much to look forward to,” she says. “Ella Mai will be on the road later this year with her ‘Did You Miss Me?’ tour, what’s still to come following the release of Willow’s new album, Petal Rock Black; Steve Lacy; Jhene Aiko; Victoria Monét  … the list
goes on.”

And so does she.
