BANNER YEAR IN TICKETING
“I had the incredible experience last year of working on Benson Boone and Laufey’s first-ever arena tours – both of which were sold-out endeavors. There can be so much unknown with that jump to arenas, and especially with ticketing, there is so much conversation that goes into ‘how do we make this as successful as possible, without compromising the relationship between the artist and the fan?’ Being able to help artist teams make ticketing decisions that are as fan-friendly as possible is incredibly rewarding.”

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
“I’d been going to shows for years, but a light bulb went off randomly at a show that there must be people behind the scenes, making it actually happen. I had no idea what that really looked like, but I started with what was most accessible, which was signing up for the street team at my local venue (Rams Head Live!, now Nevermore Hall, in Baltimore), and was able to move into a box office attendant position later that year. Getting the on-the-ground experience in the venue opened my eyes to all of the different aspects of live music careers, and I’m lucky that I was able to find avenues to keep me in live music all these years later!”

LIFTING EACH OTHER UP
“I’m tentatively optimistic about the changes that I’ve seen within the industry. I’m incredibly inspired by the young female artists who are outspoken in their beliefs and challenging the way of doing things, and, on the business side, it’s heartening to look around and see more women in leadership positions across the industry. That being said, so often, the opportunities for women exist because of other women – someone else saying your name in a room, sending something your way, or creating a new lane. While it’s imperative that we hold open the door for others, opening the door specifically for women shouldn’t just fall on our shoulders.”

HOW TO MAKE YOUR MARK
“Take up more space than you think you should. Imposter syndrome is real (I’m fighting it as I’m taking part in this!), but other people believing in you starts with you believing in yourself.”
