THE PHILOSOPYHY THAT GUIDES HER CAREER | “Kindness, first.”

Summer Marshall (need more hi res)

CAA’s Summer Marshall has been working with Olivia Dean for nearly a decade. And this year, the artist had her biggest breakout, snagging the Grammy award for Best New Artist, as well as picking up four awards at the Brit Awards including best British artist. The 26-year-old pop/R&B star is gearing up to headline arenas across the globe on “The Art of Loving Live” trek.

“It is pure joy to see hard work manifest into major success,” Marshall says. “Olivia became the first solo British female artist to simultaneously hold the number one album and single since Adele in 2021. Olivia’s live career has grown rapidly, including six sold-out shows at The O2 in London, four sold-out MSG’s in New York within a massive global touring trajectory extending through 20226. A Grammy win for best new artist is only the start! Olivia’s international profile continues to expand, marking her out as one of the UK’s most significant contemporary artists. We have a strong team including Jenna Adler, Bradlee Banbury and Shayna Ehrlich who are the best.”

While many industries can be notoriously difficult for women, Marshall notes that the top touring artists and female acts have become a dominant force. Taylor Swift took home the crown for Pollstar’s Top Tour Worldwide in both 2023 and 2024, and Beyoncé snagged the top slot in 2025.

“There are more women leading major tours and festival lineups than ever before,” Marshall says. “The shift is rooted in greater intention across the industry. Artists are being given more time, more care and more considered platforms, allowing audiences to connect more deeply with the work. This is the result of people paying closer attention and doing the work properly.”

Along with Dean, Marshall works with a diverse roster including Sam Smith, Jorja Smith, Tems, Ava Max, Maisie Peters, Shaboozey, Celeste, Koffee, Omah Lay, Kojey Radical, ENNY, Nick Mulvey, Orla Gartland, Rachel Chinouriri, Tom Walker, The Temper Trap and Girl Group.

At the end of each day, Marshall lights a candle. She says the ritual helps her transition her mindset to ease into relaxation mode, signifying that the work day has ended, and her personal time has begun.
