Janelle Monáe Signs With UTA For Global Representation In All Areas

United Talent Agency announced today that it has signed multihyphenate star Janelle Monáe for global representation in all areas, working to secure opportunities for the artist across touring, media, film and television, brand partnerships and more.
Monáe is a 10-time Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, author, and actor who has released four albums and starred in films such as Hidden Figures, Antebellum, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. She is slated to appear in Amazon MGM’s Is God Is, which will be released in theaters May 15, and Netflix’s adult animated series Bass X Machina, which premieres Oct. 6.
“Janelle is a generational talent and the true definition of a multi-hyphenate creative,” UTA Partner and Co-Head of Talent Jay Gassner said in a statement. “We are thrilled to partner with an artist of Janelle’s singular vision and profound cultural impact and look forward to working with them and Wondaland to unlock and amplify opportunities across music, film, television, brands, fashion, publishing, theatre, community building and beyond.”
In 2025, Monáe was busy on the festival circuit, performing at events like Montreux Jazz Festival Miami, Wonderfront, Bumbershoot and All Things Go. She has had success on the road as a headliner, having sold out YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, in October 2023 and grossing $582,334 off 5,060 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.
Her most recent album was 2023’s The Age of Pleasure, which was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammys.
Monáe founded Wondaland Records in partnership with Epic Records. She is managed by a Wondaland team led by Mikael Moore that includes Nate Wonder, Chuck Lightning and Kelli Andrews. Monáe also founded Wondaland Arts Society and Wondaland Pictures, which develops film, TV and multimedia projects and has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures.
In addition to being an artist and music executive, Monáe wrote The Memory Librarian: And Other Stories of Dirty Computer, a New York Times bestselling short story collection released in 2022.
Monáe also has a nonprofit, Fem The Future, dedicated to cultivating integration of STEM and creative arts for women, girls and gender expansive people of color.
