Mint XL: New 2000-Cap Venue For Leeds, UK

A new 2,000-cap venue is set to open its doors in Leeds, UK this year, conceived by the same team behind the city’s Mint Warehouse, adding a new venue option to the city’s nightlife and events landscape.
Dubbed Mint XL, it combines Mint’s three decades of experience delivering events and venues around Leeds, from intimate club spaces to major outdoor festivals, including Mint Festival pictured above.
“With Mint XL, that knowledge has been channelled into a venue designed to operate at a different level, both in scale and ambition,” according to the press announcement.
Mint XL has been purpose-built to host a wide range of events – from large-scale electronic music lineups and extended DJ sets to live performances, brand activations, and private hires.
At the heart of the venue is “a focus on sound and experience”. A newly installed Funktion-One Vero system will power the main rooms, indicating that there are multiple spaces inside Mint XL that can be utilized. The sound system is complemented by “high-spec production throughout”, according to the press announcement.
The team’s plan is to program “longer, extended sets, giving artists the space to take audiences on a deeper musical journey.”
In keeping with the ethos established at previous venues, Mint XL will also operate a strict no-phones policy during club events, keeping the focus on the music and the moment.
According to the team, “Mint XL reflects a growing demand across the UK for adaptable, high-quality venues that can move seamlessly between music, culture, and commercial events. The aim is simple: to create a space that feels equally at home hosting global DJs, live acts, or brand-led experiences.”
“Mint XL is the next chapter for the brand,” said owner Shane Graham, “From Mint Club through to Mint Festival, we’ve spent nearly two decades building something special in Leeds, and this is a natural progression of that journey. It allows us to take everything we’ve produced over the years and deliver it at a much bigger club setting.”
Director Mikey McMahon added, “Mint XL is a big step forward for us. It allows us to programme multi-bill lineups at a much bigger scale across multiple rooms, while also expanding beyond electronic music into live bands, private hires, and brand-led events. At its core, we’ve designed it as a fully versatile space that can adapt to different audiences and experiences under one roof.”
