Sphere Entertainment Appoints David Dibble As Vice Chairman, Sphere

Sphere Entertainment has named David Dibble, a seasoned technologist and business leader, Vice Chairman, Sphere.

Dibble most recently served as Special Advisor to the Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, which followed his role as CEO of MSG Ventures.

In this role, Mr. Dibble will work with executive leadership to explore opportunities to advance Sphere’s proprietary technologies and deliver immersive experiences that fully leverage Sphere’s capabilities.

The company has an expansive portfolio of patents issued both in the U.S. and internationally, and other intellectual property, spanning areas including Sphere venue design, audio delivery, video capture and display, and 4D technologies.

Dibble will report to Jim Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment.

Dibble joined Sphere Entertainment in 2016 as CEO of MSG Ventures. This role extended across the MSG family of companies – which in addition to Sphere Entertainment includes Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. and Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. – and he was responsible for helping deliver technology solutions across a diverse portfolio of venues and entertainment properties. He also had oversight for the overall technology function across the companies, including application development, technology strategy, infrastructure and operations.

Famously, it was in a conversation with Mr. Dibble in 2016 where Dolan first outlined his vision for Sphere as a new experiential medium powered by advanced technologies. Dibble oversaw the development of the audio, video and connectivity technologies for Sphere. This includes Sphere Immersive Sound, which beyond Sphere in Las Vegas has also been introduced at New York’s Beacon Theatre and Radio City Music Hall.

Prior to joining Sphere Entertainment in 2016, Dibble was Chief Technology Officer of Cablevision Systems Corporation.
