Georgia natives – five-time entertainer of the year Luke Bryan and reigning ACM Artist of the Decade Jason Aldean – teamed up for a sold-out concert Saturday at Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia with 63,000 fans attended the venue’s “Live Between the Hedges” concert series.
This was the first concert at Sanford Stadium since Bryan and Aldean last rocked the Dog House in 2013 as part of Aldean’s “Night Train Tour,” which was the only concert event ever to be held at the venue.
“Playing Sanford Stadium in 2013 was one of the biggest highlights of my career,” shared Aldean when the announcement of the concert was made in September. “I couldn’t be more excited to co-headline it this time with my buddy Luke Bryan. Luke and I have talked for years about wanting to do another show in Athens, and finally the stars have aligned for us to be able to do it.”
“Growing up going to Sanford Stadium was always a highlight of the year for me and I can’t believe I get to go back as a co-headliner with one of my best friends and play this iconic place,” added Bryan at the time. “Aldean and I have been talking about putting on a unique show together for a few years and to be able to do that in our home turf is incredible. I am so grateful to continue to have these opportunities and to keep being able to have so much fun at this life. This is going to be way up there on the list for me.”
CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Zach Top, Platinum-selling singer and Georgia native Lauren Alaina, as well as DJ Rock and Dee Jay Silver, also participated. Surprise guests included Brantley Gilbert, who co-wrote Aldean’s No. 1 “Dirt Road Anthem,” as well as Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart, who joined the Georgia natives on stage during the show.
Bryan, who recently ranked in the Top 20 of Pollstar’s Artists of the Millennium List based on ticket sales, will kick off the Live Nation-produced “Word On The Street Tour” with back-to-back shows on May 29 and 30 in Gilford, New Hampshire. Bryan who sold more than 20 million concerts tickets in his careers is one of three country artists to make Pollstar’s Top 20 including Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith, who died in 2024.
Aldean visits amphitheaters and arenas across North America this summer on the 22-date “Songs About Us” tour, also produced by Live Nation. The run begins July 16 at Bangor’s Maine Savings Amphitheater and includes stops in Fresno, Kansas City, Hamilton, Ontario, and more before wrapping with a double at Gilford, New Hampshire’s BankNH Pavilion Sept. 25 and 26.
“Live Between The Hedges” Concert Series presented by Pruitt Health is brought by a partnership with DOES Entertainment and Dugas-Jackson Consulting.
