Exclusive: The Temptations Sign With Independent Artist Group For Worldwide Representation

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act The Temptations signed with Independent Artist Group for worldwide representation, and a large-scale global tour for the iconic vocal group is in the works, the agency announced.
The global trek will run through 2027 and feature songs from the group’s renowned songbook, including “My Girl” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone.”
“We are truly looking forward to putting together memorable shows that will befit their massive legacy,” said IAG agents Alex Chaykin and Harold Froget, who will be running point on The Temptations.
The Temptations are widely considered one of the most influential vocal groups, known for their signature dance moves and harmonies. The R&B legends who defined Detroit soul have won four competitive Grammy Awards, and in 1969, they were the first Motown act to win one, with “Cloud Nine.” The Grammys also honored The Temptations with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 for their contributions to music.
They are one of the most successful groups of all time, selling tens of millions of albums.
Otis Williams is an original and founding member of The Temptations, and as the group’s leader and collaborator, he directed their transition from the ’60s to today. Williams also has an acclaimed autobiography, Temptations, written by author Patricia Romanowski and published in 1988. The book was the source for an Emmy Award-winning TV miniseries, The Temptations, in 1998 and the 2019 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations.
Their brand remains popular to this day. The Temptations teamed up with The Four Tops to sell out theaters across the country last year, including a show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium that grossed $195,789 off 2,227 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.
IAG adds yet another legendary act to its roster. The agency represents touring artists such as Billy Joel, Metallica, 50 Cent, Mary J. Bige, Neil Young,, Rod Stewart, The Strokes, En Vogue, Rush and many more.
