Top Tours: Bad Bunny Tops $1B In Career Grosses Faster Than Any Artist In History

It has been quite a remarkable year for Bad Bunny, with a successful Super Bowl halftime performance, winning Album of the Year at the Grammys and his “Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour” which has earned the No. 1 ranking among Pollstar’s Top 100 Worldwide Touring Artists. Now, though, he can add another milestone to that list as he recently joined the select group of performers who have grossed over $1 billion from concert ticket sales throughout their career. And he did it faster than any other artist in this century.

Based on Pollstar’s box-office data stretching back to 2000, he crossed the billion-dollar threshold 3,136 days after the date of his oldest show on record in the archives. His first concert to appear on the charts was a performance on Oct. 20, 2017 at Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City with a crowd of 7,318 and a gross of $305,151. Then, eight years, seven months and two days later, he reached $1,008,918,203 in career grosses with his sold-out concert on May 22, 2026 at Estadi Olímpic de Montjuic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain, the first show on the European leg of his current tour.

U2 previously held the record as the fastest to reach $1 billion, arriving there 3,539 days after the band’s March 24, 2001 performance, their first event recorded in the archives. Ed Sheeran follows with 3,755 days between his first charted show in 2012 and joining the billion-dollar-club in 2022. Then, he is followed by Madonna with a 4,142-day span and The Rolling Stones at 4,670 days.

About 22 percent of Bad Bunny’s $1 billion-plus total comes from his current tour that racked up more than $225.2 million between the opening performance on Nov. 21 of last year through May 13, the mid-year deadline. At 27 stadium shows during that period, he sold a total of 1,496,735 tickets. It is currently his second highest grossing tour on record.

His largest box office haul came in 2022 with the “World’s Hottest Tour.” That year he grossed a massive $318.4 million from concerts at stadiums in North and South America between Aug. 5 and Dec. 10. Attendance on the tour totaled 1,856,596 with 43 performances.

Earlier in 2022, he also headlined dates at arenas between Feb. 9 and April 3 with his “El Último Tour del Mundo.” With a gross of $113 million from 574,191 tickets at 35 concerts, it was the fourth highest grossing tour of his career.

The third highest was his “Most Wanted Tour” in 2024. Grosses that year came to $210.9 million from 49 concerts booked between Feb. 21 and June 9. It was a North American arena trek and drew 753,287 fans during its run.

Earlier tours included 2019’s “X100pre Tour” with $51.4 million from 595,406 sold seats at 47 arena concerts, while his first headlining tour in 2018 was “La Nueva Religion.” It grossed $21 million from 299,854 tickets at 44 arena and theater shows.

Bad Bunny also had one concert residency, his 31-show run last year at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. He grossed $47.5 million from 447,706 tickets, July 11 through Sep. 20.
