“We can look back on a successful start to ticket sales, two special weekends and an unforgettable anniversary,” commented Stephan Thanscheidt, CEO and Head of Festival Booking at FKP Scorpio, “Being a successful festival for 30 years makes me and the entire team incredibly proud. I would therefore like to thank our staff and all the artists who, both on and off stage, turned our anniversary into a fantastic birthday celebration. My thanks also go to our audience, who demonstrate year after year how a caring community can celebrate music and life. The Hurricane Festival holds a special place in the hearts of its guests – but also in those of our artists, many of whom have grown up alongside us or are yet to make their breakthrough.”

The Hurricane Festival was first organized in 1997 by FKP Scorpio founder and managing director Folkert Koopmans. The Southside Festival made its debut as early as 1999, meaning it will be celebrating a big anniversary in two years’ time. Today, both festivals are among the largest and most popular open-air events in Germany and Europe. In 2027, they will take place June 18-20.
