Classic rock legends Rush have postponed two nights on its “Fifty Something” tour at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, saying frontman Geddy Lee is suffering from bronchitis and laryngitis, with immediately rescheduled dates announced for July 11 and July 13.

The first show, scheduled June 30, has been moved to July 11, with the second show, set for July 2, moved to July 13.

“To our fans, We are deeply sorry to share that we must reschedule our June 30 and July 2 shows,” reads an official announcement on the band’s website. “Geddy has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. After being evaluated by his doctors, he has been advised that he needs additional time to rest and recover before returning to the stage. This is incredibly disappointing for all of us. We know many of you have made travel plans and have been counting down the days to these shows. Please know this decision was not made lightly. After more than 50 years of touring, we’ve always believed that if we’re going to step on stage, we owe you the very best performance we can give—and right now, that simply isn’t possible.”

The announcement continues to say all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refund information will be available from the original point of purchase for those who are now unable to attend.

The postponement comes after the band already had issues making it to Texas from Mexico, with “unforeseen travel and border-related delays impacting our touring production.” That led to the June 24 date at Dickies Arena being moved to July 2.

The influential Canadian prog-rock three-piece triumphantly opened its “Fifty Something Tour” June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, where they played four dates much to the delight of fans who hadn’t seen the band on tour since 2015 and following the passing of longtime drummer and core member Neil Peart who passed in 2020.

The band had been mixing up setlists extensively, playing full albums in totality and other oddball and rarities for its legion of devoted fans — who seem to unanimously embrace new drummer, Anika Nilles. The extensive tour has North American arena dates scheduled into December, with international dates kicking off in mid January and continuing well into the spring, in South America, Europe and the UK.

Rush is represented by Independent Artist Group and managed by Q Prime.
