WME Signs Colombian Singer-Songwriter Fonseca

WME bolstered its Latin artist roster by signing Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca for worldwide representation, the agency announced Thursday.
Fonseca is a celebrated Latin Grammy-winning pop star from Bogotá who has toured the globe, performing in Latin America, Europe, Asia and the U.S. He recently concluded his “TROPICALIA Tour,” which wrapped up April 8 with a sold-out show at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, where he grossed $492,122 off 9,125 tickets sold, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
He released his latest album, Antes Que El Tiempo Se Vaya, in April and will promote his new music by hitting the road this fall. He kicks off his “Antes Que El Tiempo Se Vaya Tour” with a hometown stadium concert Oct. 24 at Estadio El Campín in Bogotá.
Fonseca has been nominated for 31 Latin Grammys and has won nine for his signature style that blends tropical, pop and folk music. He broke into the Latin music scene in 2002 with his eponymous debut, and his sophomore effort, Corazón, helped him establish an international fanbase with the hit song “Te Mando Flores.” The song has more than 435 million streams on Spotify, and Fonseca has amassed nearly 6.7 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform.
The Colombian singer has also been involved in philanthropic and social initiatives, founding the organization Fundación Gratitude, which promotes art and music by expanding access to artistic education for youth in underserved communities.
